Media estrella alcanza: no hace falta escribir
nada.

## Preguntas frecuentes

MIGA te ayuda a elegir

# About MIGA

MIGA is a personal taste system for eating in Buenos Aires. It is a food
recommendation app with one structural difference from almost everything else
out there: **the unit is the dish, not the restaurant**.

Restaurant reviews answer "where should I go?". That question is reasonably well
solved. The one still unanswered is the one that arrives thirty seconds later,
menu in hand, seven options that all sound fine: **what should I order?** MIGA
exists to answer that one.

## Who it is for

Anyone who eats out and stares at the menu longer than they'd like. The decision
arrives twice: once when you're planning to go out and don't know where, and
again with the menu in your hand. MIGA is for both.

It also works **with friends**: MIGA shows how much two people's tastes overlap,
as a percentage, so a group can see where they genuinely agree instead of
guessing. It compares tastes between people; it does not yet produce a single
joint recommendation for a whole table.

And for anyone who wants a record of what they've eaten — the way people log the
films they've seen — and for restaurants that want to understand which dishes on
their menu speak to which kind of diner.

## How it learns your taste

The model has three moments.

**Input.** You rate a dish. Half a star is enough; you don't have to write
anything. MIGA infers the dish's sensory character from what the dish is — its
category, its cuisine, its ingredients — so rating a pizza already teaches it
something about your relationship with crisp, cheesy, comforting food.

**Profile.** Those signals accumulate into a personal taste profile that is
recomputed in full on every new rating. The profile has a visual form: shapes
that show what you feel, sizes that show how much.

**Output.** When you open a menu, MIGA reorders it against that profile and tells
you **why** each dish fits, in plain language. A percentage without an
explanation is worth nothing; the explanation is the product.

Add more detail — acidity, intensity, context — and the system sharpens. But
detail is never required. A rating on its own has to be enough, and it is.

## Where it works

Buenos Aires, Argentina. The app is in Argentine Spanish. The first market is
deliberately small: a taste system needs density of data about the same dishes
and the same places before it becomes useful. Buenos Aires is the starting
point, not the limit — the intention is to expand to other cities once the
system works well in one.

## Current status

MIGA is pre-launch. The app is not public yet and the only action available on
this website is joining the waitlist. There is no paid tier, we do not sell food
and we take no commission from restaurants.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is MIGA?

An app that learns your taste from the dishes you rate and turns any menu into an
explained, personal recommendation.

### How is this different from reviewing restaurants?

Restaurant reviews help you choose where to go. MIGA helps you choose what to
order once you're there. The unit of analysis is the individual dish, not the
venue.

### How does it learn my taste?

From ratings. MIGA infers each dish's character from what the dish is, and
accumulates those signals into a profile that is recomputed in full after every
review.

### Do I have to write long reviews?

No. Half a star and "I'd order it again" already build a real profile. Sensory
detail is optional — it sharpens the profile, it is never required to start one.

### Is it available? When?

Not yet. We're preparing the first tables in Buenos Aires. The waitlist is how
you hear when access opens.

### What does it cost?

Nothing for the people using it. There is no paid tier at this time.

### What data do you keep?

From the waitlist: name, email, and whether you're a diner or a restaurant.
Nothing else. Full detail is on the privacy page.

### Where does it work?

Buenos Aires, Argentina, in Spanish, for now. That is the first market rather
than the only one planned — the intention is to expand to other cities.

### Does it help when going out with friends?

Yes. Alongside recommending dishes, MIGA shows how much your taste overlaps with
another person's, as a percentage, so you can see where you actually agree. It
does not yet produce a single joint recommendation for a whole table.
